Last year, while driving through the picturesque countryside of Central Florida, I sought inspiration for a business that could genuinely assist others. During my journey, I stumbled upon charming farmstands that caught my eye. I paused to purchase some delightful jam and a bottle of local Florida honey. The exquisite selection of products available amazed me; many of these stands offered handmade arts and crafts, pies and baked goods, fresh produce, butter, and cheeses.

It struck me that within the vast expanse of the internet, these small business owners lacked a viable way to be discovered. I envisioned a website that could secure a spot on the first page of Google searches, allowing residents, friends, and visitors in Central Florida to easily find all the wonderful offerings from local farmers and artisans.

Although I had already launched EMC2, I hadn’t yet found a clear direction for my venture. It was that day that F2M was born! I began crafting a website that felt like Grandma’s house—a welcoming place where local small, micro, and cottage businesses could afford to be listed and establish a strong online presence. If this local search and listing site appeared on Google’s front page, customers could easily find everyone and even plan a day around it!

As I laid the groundwork for F2M, I recognized that various other industries could benefit from a similar service. Building a website that genuinely ranks and appears on the first page—where 97% of commerce occurs—is both costly and time-consuming. While there are corporate-run sites that are similar, they often come with a hefty price tag and a lack of personal touch. My goal was to create a localized Central Florida platform that, despite being digital, could evoke the personal service and uniqueness of our online marketplace. I aimed for both vendors and customers to feel a strong sense of community, akin to that of friends, neighbors, family, and home.
